The Northern Virginia Parents of Multiples (NVPOM) is a volunteer group that provides both support and social activities for its members. The purpose of NVPOM is to broaden the understanding of those aspects of child development and rearing which relate especially to multiples. This is accomplished through the interchange of information between parents, educators, doctors, and others; various social activities during which NVPOM members share their experiences and concerns raising multiples; and by assisting members and other families with multiples and engaging in charitable efforts, including sponsoring two children’s clothing and equipment sales per year.
NVPOM is non-discriminating and welcomes families in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, with twins or higher-order multiples of any age to be a part of our growing family. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm, September through June (except January). The meeting locations may change each month with the focus of the meeting. Please check the Calendar tab for location information or contact membership@nvpom.com for meeting details. Social activities are planned throughout the month. Club dues are $35 per year (October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011). Dues for the partial year are $17.50 after March 25, 2011. If you have (or are expecting multiples), click here to join.
The Club publishes a monthly electronic newsletter, Double Talk. A complimentary copy of the newsletter is available for prospective members. Prospective members are also welcome to attend a General Meeting prior to joining the Cub. For further information regarding NVPOM, please e-mail our membership contact at membership@nvpom.com.
